Säkkijärven polkka (‘the Säkkijärvi polka’, also called the Karelian-Finnish polka) is the most loved accordion piece among the Finnish people. It became famous when the legendary accordion champion Viljo “Vili” Vesterinen recorded it in 1939. In the late 90s it also achieved fame as the Nokia mobile phone ringtone.
The polka has four movements, of which three are in C minor and the fourth in F minor.
